Metropolitan Drug Commission

As part of my contribution to the BlueOut Knoxville event, I produced videos I called “60 seconds of fame” for any non-profit that attended BlueOut Knoxville that was not a finalist. Here is the first of six of those videos. This one features the Metropolitan Drug Commission, the only local organization focused on drug prevention. Thank you for what you do to help protect Knoxville’s residents.

BlueOut Knoxville results

Margaret Slattery, Jeremy Floyd, Tori Rose, Billy Rivet

Now that we’ve had a chance to recuperate from the big event, we wanted to share the final results for BlueOut Knoxville. We had a great time–good bluegrass, good beer, and good bar b que–but most importantly, we helped raise money for three great Knoxville charities.

The Helen Ross McNabb Center entered the event with 49 votes. Their supporters gave them an additional $108, which put them in third place. In addition to $108 more dollars than they had that morning, their organization won 10 hours of marketing consulting from Bluegill Creative.

DiaperLove was a last minute contender in the race and only managed to score 2 votes before the deadline. However, their generous supporters contributed $359, putting them in second place. In addition, they won a custom promotional video from yours truly, Blue Frog Creations.

Random Acts of Flowers was the front-runner going into the evening with 368 votes. Their supporters showed up in droves and donated $2745 directly to them. Congratulations to them for winning the grand price of $5000. This is a significant portion of their budget, and they are thrilled to have these extra funds.

In addition, six other non-profits participated in 60 seconds of fame compliments of Blue Frog Creations and will be receiving their videos shortly.

Bluegill CreativeBlue Media Boutique, and Blue Frog Creations are pleased to have hosted this innovative fundraiser. Thank you to all who helped make it a success.

They’d rather go to Chattanooga than Disney World

This video cracked me up and made me feel for the parents. Here they are ready to be the heroes for announcing a trip to Disney World, and their kids are CRYING because they changed plans. They would rather go to Chattanooga than Disney! I’m guessing it’s more about changed expectations than an aversion to Mickey, but it makes me think twice about springing a Disney trip on my kids as a surprise!
